GAS FIRE suppression sistems

Gas Fire Suppression Systems are an ideal solution for protecting assets where water could pose a risk, particularly in IT, data, and communication areas. These systems are designed to extinguish fires in environments containing sensitive equipment by releasing a concentration of gas within the protected area.
At Kat Brandschutztechnik, we design, install, and maintain a complete range of gas fire suppression systems—both with synthetic gases (chemical gases) and inert gases.

Synthetic Gases

Synthetic gases are commonly used for fire suppression due to their effectiveness and minimal environmental impact. Two of the most widely used synthetic gases are Novec 1230 and FM-200:

Novec 1230: A colorless, virtually odorless, and non-conductive gas. It extinguishes fires primarily through physical means (heat absorption). Novec 1230 is suitable for protecting high-value assets and environments where Halon 1301 would traditionally be used.
FM-200: A clean agent fire suppressant suitable for Class A, B, and C fires. FM-200 is a colorless, non-toxic gas that leaves no residue, making it perfect for areas where business continuity and minimal disruption are crucial. It is commonly used in spaces where sensitive equipment must remain undamaged

Inert Gases

Inert gas-based suppression systems use gases found naturally in the atmosphere, making them environmentally friendly and sustainable. The most common inert gases are IG-55, IG-541 (INERGEN), and CO₂:

IG-55: Composed of 50% Argon (IG-01) and 50% Nitrogen, this gas works by reducing the oxygen content in the room, making it impossible for a fire to sustain itself.
IG-541 (INERGEN): This mixture consists of 52% Nitrogen (IG-100), 40% Argon, and 8% CO₂. It functions similarly by lowering the oxygen concentration in the air to below 15%, where combustion cannot occur.
Inert gas systems are effective for areas where the fire suppression solution must not harm sensitive equipment, and their environmentally friendly composition ensures minimal impact on the ecosystem.

Key Benefits of Gas Fire Suppression Systems:
Fast, effective fire suppression without damaging sensitive equipment.
Non-toxic and residue-free solutions that ensure minimal cleanup and recovery time.
Environmentally friendly options with inert gases, ensuring compliance with sustainability standards.
Ideal for high-value assets, IT infrastructure, communication centers, and data storage areas.
At Kat Brandschutztechnik, we ensure optimal design, installation, and maintenance of these advanced systems, offering complete protection for your most valuable and sensitive assets.
